We’ve had a run of interesting aviation news this year. And now, a Continental pilot died en route from Belgium to Newark. When the pilot fell ill, an announcement was made to the cabin asking for doctors to come forward. This Belgian cardiologist answered the call for help. I absolutely love this photo (by Nadav Neuhaus for the NYT). The doctor looks so cool and dispassionate, chin up, looking off into the middle distance, his body language saying, “No big deal, this is just what I do.” If I ever need a cardiologist, this is my guy.
You do realize the pilot died right? Peh… some cardiologist :)
